Welcome to the News Page. Here’s you’ll find all the latest news and happenings from the Duncan Kitson Facebook page.
I am a self-taught Chainsaw Sculptor born, raised and still residing in North Wales on the north west coast of Anglesey. After spending my early working years felling trees in Newborough Forest, I discovered that it was far more rewarding to carve trees instead of cut them down. Inspired by my natural environment, the beauty of the coastal landscape, it's wildlife and the ever changing sea and western sky, my work is mostly calm, peaceful and tactile, unlike the raging storm of the chainsaw that created it! The unique and original qualities of my work lie in the design, engineering, symmetry and movement of my sculptures. I have extensive knowledge of trees, their history, age, condition, durability and suitability for all types of projects. I can carve fallen trees or living trees into bespoke pieces of art for schools, public areas or private commissions. With over 35 years of experience, I have represented Wales and Great Britain in many international wood and snow sculpture symposiums and competitions. My work can be seen throughout the UK, Europe, Canada and the USA. If you have a project you are presently considering or would like to discuss any potential future project, ideas or thoughts, looking for a bespoke gift or something for the garden, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
